Core Energetics is a form of somatic or body psychotherapy, which is designed to open up our emotional blocks, so we can live more fully. Hitting the cube is one of the many ways we can express our emotions in Core. Other exercises include boxing, rope pulling, dancing, yelling, and sometimes just breathing.
As humans, our natural instinct is to avoid change and discomfort. We stay within our “comfort zone” even when we are suffering. We must learn to go beyond what’s comfortable, engage the unknown, and experience feelings which we may believe are too dangerous to feel.
